Flu 2021

Flu Vacinations

Delays in deliveries have caused a knock on effect of a delay in inviting eligible patients to be vaccinated. However we are assured that our first delivery is immenent. We are inviting those eligible and booking appointments but we may need to contact you and rearrange at short notice if we have any further delays. If you are booked for a Covid booster vaccination we are hoping to vaccinate you against flu at the same time , we will update you if this is the case.

The practice is exceptionaly busy at the moment. Unnecessary calls regarding Covid or Flu vaccinations will cause further delays in receptionists being able to answer the phones for patients requiring urgent appointmnets or advice. Please consider this before calling the practice.

Eligible children

For children born between 01.09.2016 and 31.08.2018 and other clinically eligible children under 18 we are offering the nasal vaccination. Please call reception to book an appointment.

Children who are not able to receive the nasal vaccine for clinical reasons will be offered an alternative vaccine.

I am aged 50-64 am I also eligible

Later in the year the flu vaccine is expected to be offered to patients who are not currently eligible. We are waiting for more information from NHS England.

It is advisable this year in particular that if you are in a risk category you receive a flu vaccination. Should you wish to decline please call reception and let us know.

Advice

IF YOU ARE NOT WELL OR WORRIED, PLEASE DO NOT PUT OFF CONTACTING THE SURGERY FOR ADVICE.

IF APPROPRIATE A TELEPHONE CONSULTATION WILL BE ARRANGED FOR YOU WITH A CLINICIAN WHO WILL DECIDE ON THE BEST ACTION TO TAKE.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP.

During this difficult time, with the increased pressures caused by coronavirus, the Practice has suspended the system of pre-bookable and online bookable appointments with GP’s and the nurses.

The surgery is changing all non-urgent face to face appointments to telephone consultations; this includes medication reviews / diabetes & other chronic disease reviews.

The Practice would like to thank patients for their understanding during this difficult time.
